Day 20- Well Rounded

There is so many aspects of good health. A career as a midwife and in public health has taught me that health is more than just the absence of disease, it is being able to live your life to your full potential, being fit, eating right and taking care of your physical body and spirit. Today, during our Wednesday evening Pilates Reformer class at Reformation Fitness, I had a moment while I stretched my tight hamstrings. This month is about more than just improving my eating habits, trying to improve my relationship with food and beginning my training in earnest for Western States, it is about taking the time to stretch, to do strength training, to go to bed before 11pm (one of my Day 0 goals) and work to improve my health.

This is the stretch I am talking about (I just wasn’t quite smiling like these ladies!)

Today is one of the first days that I felt like I was really doing all of the things necessary to work towards improving my overall health. And if you want to check out a Pilates class with me, just let me know, it has done wonders to improve my strength and flexibility and if you are local your first class to try the studio is free!
