Day 2- 50k + Whole30 = 25k

Fuel for ultrarunning- cashew butter, homemade almond/cacao/coconut butter and Cacao Goji Energy Squares

Well today was a reminded of how much detoxing I have to do during the next 30days. This carb hangover is something serious. I didn’t get this with my last Whole30. I am not sure if it is because my diet leading up to it was a lot better and Christmas cookies and beer have left me bloated and sugar dependent, or if this time I am not using fruit as a crutch or snacking at all. Either way, trying to race a 50k today¬†was one of the most uncomfortable things I have done in a while and then I turned my ankle something special. With all of that, I decided to opt for the 25k and call it a day. All in all, I am most disappointed that I didn’t get to try my new homemade raw almond butter, coconut, cacao “gels” but I am glad to spend another day on the trails with Adam and to have finished Day 2. Tiger’s blood better be right around the corner!¬†
